![]() ![]() The printed lists are required for us to use, because it is not possible to get everyone we are issuing non-conformities to on-board with Asana (or any software including email). My team and I use Asana to capture and issue non-conformities in a manufacturing process. I completely agree with the above comments. It would be very helpful if we could do something similar in Asana, giving each project an abbreviation and then having tickets be assigned a serial number for the project they are created in (even if they’re added to a different project later) so that we can them easily. You can then use to refer to tickets using these values, such as as “What is the status of which would link to the MKTO-2 ticket. automatically generated as tickets are created. For example, if we had a Marketo integration project which we abbreviate as MKTO each ticket which is created would have a user-friendly ID of MKTO-1, MKTO-2, MKTO-3, etc. YouTrack does this really nicely by assigning a serial number to each item along with a project abbreviation (which you come up with yourself). I don’t really care if the URL is what it currently is (though short links would be nice) but just having SOME auto-generated, user-friendly identifier would be a huge help. The summary of a lot of tasks can be similar, and you only see the first few words of each one, so it’s difficult to reference them through notation correctly when the first couple of words match. Even when we’re trying to link or reference tasks WITHIN Asana it’s hard to do so using the notation because there’s no way to easily refer to tasks. If we want to talk about a task we can’t refer to it as “hey, did you work on 668839374825240/707209820347285?” in conversation or refer to that in comments or emails and have anyone know what we’re talking about. This would be exceptionally useful, and the lack of this feature is making Asana difficult to use. Here’s a comment I made about this in the other thread: The application makes numbering documents a very simple task. This is sort of related to the request at Short task link with ID - #33 by Liam_Ward. A few samples are included with the Number Press demo. ![]() Number Press is available for Windows and Mac OS X. Numbering documents is a piece of cake with the incredibly user friendly Number Press tool from Praeter Software. Please note that the Number Press demo locks the prefix as “Demo” and puts two watermarks on exported documents. Just select the font style, size and color you want to use, pick the numbering settings you want via the Numbering Assistant, choose where you want the numbers to be displayed on the document, then generate a numbered document. This is not to say that using the application is a difficult task – because it is not. To help you better understand what can be achieved with this application, a bunch of examples are included with the Number Press demo. To the right you have panes for Position Data, Quick Layout, and Variable Data. To the left you have panes for Basic and Advanced Numbering, Document and Background Info, Text, Background, and Other Settings. At the top you have a traditional File menu and a bunch of buttons for several functions the application can perform. The application’s interface is nicely laid out and easy to use. To run Number Press on your Mac, you need it to be powered by OS X 10.6 or higher you also need a monitor capable of 1280x800 or higher resolution. To run Number Press on your PC, you need it to be powered by Windows XP or a newer version of the Windows operating system and you need a monitor capable of 1280x800 or higher resolution. Number Press is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X. Numbering 100 forms, for example, is no problem for the Number Press application – this handy tool makes numbering documents a very simple task. Praeter Software’s Number Press application is ideally suited for organizations or businesses that need to number their documents.
